Destinations
Distance changes what a casino hotel is for. A ferry crossing supports one night away; a long-haul flight has to earn a week. This page groups the destinations we cover by how far they are from Helsinki, with the local rules that matter on arrival.

Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius
The Baltic capitals are the practical answer for a reader in Helsinki. Tallinn is a two-hour ferry crossing; Riga and Vilnius are short flights. All three properties in this group have the casino inside the hotel building, all three run their gaming floors around the clock, and two of the three admit guests from 18. What differs is the city: a compact medieval core in Tallinn, Art Nouveau streets in Riga, and a large baroque old town across the river in Vilnius.
- Hilton Tallinn Park, Tallinn
- Radisson Blu Latvija Conference & Spa Hotel, Riga
- Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva, Vilnius
The historic European rooms
Deauville, Baden-Baden, Estoril and the Czech border resort are trips of a different length. Here the casino is usually a separate historic building a few minutes from the hotel, opening hours are shorter, and two of the four apply a dress code. These destinations reward a stay of several days, because the gaming room is one evening in a programme that also includes thermal baths, a racecourse, an Atlantic promenade or a tournament schedule.
- King's Resort Rozvadov, Rozvadov
- Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy Deauville, Deauville
- Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, Baden-Baden
- Palácio Estoril Hotel, Golf & Wellness, Estoril, Cascais

Long-haul reference points
Singapore and Las Vegas are included because they define what an integrated resort is. Both put the casino, the hotel, the shopping, the theatre and the convention space inside a single property, both require guests to be 21, and both are twelve hours or more from Helsinki. Read them as the far end of the scale rather than as a weekend suggestion.
- Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
- Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada

Two things that surprise Finnish travellers
Sweden no longer has a state casino
Casino Cosmopol closed in Gothenburg and Malmo on 24 February 2024, and the Stockholm venue closed in April 2025. Svenska Spel has confirmed that all Casino Cosmopol venues are permanently closed, so a casino weekend in Stockholm is no longer possible.
The entry age changes at the border
Estonia sets casino entry at 21, while Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, France and Portugal set it at 18. Germany admits guests to Casino Baden-Baden from 21, and both Singapore and Nevada require 21.
