How we review
Our method is deliberately narrow. We verify what can be verified, describe what we found, and say so when something could not be confirmed. There is no scoring model, no ranking algorithm and no paid placement.
The eight criteria
Location
Where the property sits in its town, how it connects to a port, station or airport, and what is within walking distance. For a Finnish reader the ferry and flight connection matters as much as the street address.
Accommodation
Room and suite counts as published by the operator, the age of the building, renovation history where it is documented, and the shape of the property: one tower, six towers, or a listed villa.
Amenities
Pools, spas, fitness facilities, conference capacity and anything that changes the length of stay a property can support. We list what the operator publishes and do not embellish it.
Casino information
Operator name, licence context, published floor area, published table and machine counts, opening hours, entry age, identification requirement and dress code. If an operator does not publish a number, we do not invent one.
Dining
Named restaurants and bars that the property or the casino publishes. We do not review the food; a single meal is not evidence.
Entertainment
Theatres, concert halls, galleries and event programmes that are part of the property, with the capacity figures where they are published.
Accessibility
Step-free access, lifts and adapted rooms where the operator documents them, plus practical notes such as whether a casino sits on a different floor from the lobby.
Verification
Every fact on a property page is traced to an operator publication, a national regulator, or a reference work. Each page lists the sources we used.
What counts as a source
In order of preference: the operator's own website, the casino operator's own website, the national regulator or gambling authority, a national statistics or heritage body, and finally reference works such as Wikipedia for building history. Booking platforms are used only to confirm that a property is currently taking reservations, never as a source for facts about the building.
What we will not publish
- Invented guest reviews or quotes.
- Star ratings or scores we produced ourselves.
- Game lists, jackpot figures, tournament schedules or bonus offers that the operator has not published.
- Room prices or availability, which change hourly and belong to the booking engine.
- Photographs presented as ours when they are not. Every image credits its author and licence.
Keeping pages current
Casino operations close. Casino Cosmopol in Sweden shut its last venue in April 2025, and properties in our own research have changed hands mid-project. We re-check operator pages, opening hours and entry rules before publishing, and we state the date of the last check on every property page. If you find something out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
