Frequently asked questions
Can I book a room through this site?
No. We are an editorial desk, not a booking agent. Each property page carries a link to the operator's own reservation system and a second link to a mainstream booking service, and your contract is with them.
Why do you not publish star ratings?
Because a score would suggest that a 110-room spa hotel in the Black Forest and a 3,960-room resort in Nevada can be compared on one scale. We publish criteria, verified facts and a written summary instead.
Do you use real photographs?
Yes. Every photograph on the site is a real image of the property or its surroundings, published under a Creative Commons licence or in the public domain, with the author and licence credited under the picture.
What is the minimum age to enter a casino?
It depends on the country. Estonia sets it at 21, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, France and Portugal at 18, Germany at 21 for Casino Baden-Baden, Singapore at 21 and Nevada at 21. Every property page states the age for that specific casino.
Do I need my passport?
Bring one. Every casino in our list checks identification at the door, and a passport or national ID card is accepted everywhere. Singapore requires a passport from foreign visitors because it separates them from residents, who pay a statutory entry levy.
Is there a dress code?
At Casino Baden-Baden, yes: elegant evening wear in the classic gaming area and a jacket for men, available to borrow at reception for ten euros. Deauville applies a dress code and refuses beachwear and sportswear. Elsewhere the published guidance is smart casual.
Is the casino always inside the hotel?
No, and it is the fact worth checking before booking. In Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Rozvadov, Singapore and Las Vegas the casino is inside the property. In Deauville, Baden-Baden and Estoril it is a separate historic building a few minutes away on foot.
Is there a casino hotel in Finland?
Not in the international sense. Finland has two land-based casinos, both run by Veikkaus: Casino Helsinki on Mikonkatu and Casino Tampere beside Nokia Arena. Neither is a hotel casino, which is why this desk looks outward, starting with Tallinn.
Can I still visit a casino in Stockholm?
No. Casino Cosmopol closed in Gothenburg and Malmo on 24 February 2024 and in Stockholm in April 2025, and Svenska Spel has confirmed that all its casino venues are permanently closed.
How does this site make money?
It may earn a commission when a reader books through a partner link. That does not affect which properties we cover or what we write, and no operator sees a page before it is published.
How current is the information?
Every property page states the date its facts were last checked. Hours, entry rules and even ownership change, so treat the operator's own site as the final authority before you travel.
How do I report an error?
Use the contact form and name the page and the fact. We check it against the operator or the regulator and correct it, and we will tell you what we found.
